John started Eye On Annapolis (eyeonannapolis.net), which has close to 200,000 website views a month, after someone told him that he couldn't do it himself. He not only started the blog, he started a community media-source and a full-time business.  He goes into the beginnings of Eye On Annapolis and gives his opinion on some local happenings, politics and insight from his unique perspective of the Annapolis area. This is part 1 of a 2 part interview. Listen and please share it with your friends. Thank you for enjoying The Annapolis Podcast!

This week's guest on The Annapolis Podcast is Gavin Buckley. (Photo Credit to Joe Heimbach of No Filter Photography (NoFilter Photography.net) Originally hailing from South Africa and Australia, Gavin literally sailed into City Dock in the 90's and hasn't looked back since. He is the owner of Tsunami, Lemongrass and Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge, all on West Street. He hints on a couple new restaurants to come on West Street in Annapolis. When Gavin opened up Tsunami in the year 2000, West Street wasn't the safest of areas, now it has become a more vibrant arts district. In this episode, Gavin hints at throwing his hat into the ring for Annapolis politics. He talks about the arts scene in Annapolis back in the day, which included Jimi Hendrix, among others. And, of course, he talks about the controversial mural that is above his flagship restaurant Tsunami. Press play, enjoy, stay "in-the-know" and share this episode.

This week's guest on the Annapolis Podcast is Greg Lilly. Greg is the founder and chairman of The Fish for a Cure Foundation, which holds an annual fishing competition in Annapolis. Greg talks about growing up fishing in Annapolis. We go into the informal beginnings of Fish for a Cure, which quickly became formal when his wife was found to have cancer. The Fish for a Cure Foundation has raised a "whopper" of an amount of $900,000 for the Anne Arundel Medical Center since 2010. Greg hopes that Fish For A Cure can help spread AAMC's successful "Nurse Navigator" program to hospitals around the country. Sit back, grab a beer and enjoy this genuine Annapolis Fish Story.
